Framatome Takes a Stake in Selectarc!
On June 11, 2025, Framatome announced a 40% equity stake in Selectarc, alongside its majority shareholder Viellard Migeon & Compagnie. This partnership aims to secure the supply of strategic filler metals, which are essential in the manufacturing process of components for the primary circuit of French nuclear reactors.
The only French manufacturer of welding and brazing filler metals, specializing in assembly, repair and hardfacing, Selectarc is a key player in the nuclear, defense, aerospace and space sectors.
This new long-term partnership for the supply of strategic filler metals is fully in line with efforts to strengthen the sovereignty of the supply chain of the French nuclear industry.
“Framatome’s equity stake in Selectarc once again demonstrates our commitment to sovereignty and strengthens our supply chain,” said Grégoire Ponchon, CEO of Framatome. “Selectarc has the expertise to supply products that meet the high requirements of the nuclear industry, where precision and safety are essential.”
“This strategic partnership marks a new milestone for Selectarc, consolidating its position in the nuclear, defense and aerospace markets. It will make it possible to finance targeted and ambitious investments to develop a highly technical product range, drawing on industrial synergies and strong expertise. By joining forces with a long-term industrial partner of Framatome’s caliber, Viellard Migeon & Compagnie is securing solid long-term growth prospects for its welding division, strengthening its French production base and helping reinforce our industrial sovereignty,” said Emmanuel Viellard, Chairman and CEO of Viellard Migeon & Compagnie.
