Selectarc DCS
This electrode is designed for chamfering, grooving, and gouging all metals, including stainless steels, cast iron, and copper alloys. It provides a strong blowing characteristic for efficient metal removal, resulting in smooth and uniform cuts. The surface is carbonized, and a light grinding may be necessary to remove up to 0.1 mm. It’s commonly used to eliminate screws, rivets, and welding beads, and for chamfering foundry defects or cracks before repair welding, as well as hardfacing deposits or tempered steels.
This electrode is suitable for various applications, including chamfering, grooving, and gouging metals. Specifically, it is ideal for removing fasteners like screws and rivets, preparing surfaces for repair welding (particularly around foundry defects or cracks), and modifying hardfacing or tempered steel deposits. The operator should maintain an approximate 20-degree electrode angle while using a sawing motion (forward and back) to efficiently remove material, leveraging the natural flow of molten metal by inclining the workpiece if possible.
