Selectarc UP S2Mo
This copper-coated solid wire is specifically designed for submerged arc welding of high-strength steels with a molybdenum (Mo) content of up to 0.5%. It offers enhanced creep resistance compared to carbon-manganese (C-Mn) wires. The wire’s properties allow for welding at service temperatures up to 500°C, making it suitable for demanding applications. It’s essential to consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for fume information.
This wire is primarily used in steel construction projects, particularly for the fabrication of pressure vessels, tanks, and other structural components. It is compatible with a wide range of steel grades, including fine grain steels, pipe steels, and heat-resistant steels, and is commonly utilized with steels in the X60 to X70 range, as well as those meeting EN / ISO ASTM API-5 standards. Detailed welding parameters are provided for various wire diameters and current/voltage settings.
