Selectarc TIG NI718

This nickel-chromium alloy rod (NiFe19Cr19Nb5Mo3) is specifically designed for GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) applications involving high-performance alloys such as INCONEL 718, X750, and 706. It provides excellent resistance to thermal shock, oxidation, and metallic abrasion, maintaining its integrity up to 700°C. The material is crucial in demanding environments like aerospace applications, cryogenic tank construction, and the hardfacing of hot-working tools, guaranteeing long-term durability and performance.

This TIG NI718 rod is primarily used in shielded TIG welding processes, utilizing argon gas. Optimal flow rates range from 6 to 12 l/min for front shielding and 3 to 6 l/min for back shielding. Post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) is often employed to enhance mechanical properties, typically resulting in hardness values of around 45 HRC after welding. It’s a critical component in aerospace, cryogenic, and hardfacing applications where high-temperature strength and resistance to corrosive environments are paramount.
