Selectarc TIG ALG5

This solid rod is specifically designed for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) of aluminium alloys containing more than 3% Magnesium and up to 5% Magnesium. It’s commonly utilized in demanding applications such as marine construction due to its exceptional resistance to saltwater corrosion, and in the railway sector for welding wagon bodies transporting phosphate, as well as in the road sector for trucks and tractors. It’s compatible with various base metals, including DIN 5056 AlMg5Cr, 5083 AlMg4.5Mn, 5086 AlMg4Mn, 5454 AlMg3Mn, and 5754 AlMg3. The material offers excellent mechanical properties, allowing for robust welds.

This TIG welding rod is ideal for applications requiring high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, particularly in marine environments, railway transport, and road vehicle manufacturing. It’s designed for GTAW processes using AC (~) current and shielding gases such as Argon or Argon mixed with Helium.
