Selectarc TIG 24/12S
This is a low carbon solid rod designed for GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) of stainless steels, particularly those with compositions similar to 309 and 309L. It features a higher silicon content, which allows for greater dilution without cracking risk, and improves alloy fluidity during welding. It’s suitable for welding a range of steels including low alloy steels, ferritic stainless steel like 430, and martensitic stainless steel like 410. It is also appropriate as a buffer layer before hardfacing and for high-temperature applications. The product conforms to AWS A5.9, ISO 14343-A, and W 23 12 L Si specifications.
This rod is primarily used for GTAW welding of stainless steels in applications such as boiler manufacturing, civil engineering projects, and general maintenance and repair work. It’s particularly well-suited for environments demanding high weld quality and resistance to cracking. The back shielding gas configurations (Argon and Nitrogen) are recommended to prevent rust formation during welding.
