Selectarc PHOSBRAZ M70
PHOSBRAZ M70 is a high-fluidity copper phosphorous brazing alloy specifically designed for robust brazing applications, particularly for joining fittings, pipes, and components requiring minimal joint gaps. Its elevated phosphorus content contributes to self-fluxing properties, simplifying the brazing process. While offering corrosion resistance comparable to copper alloys, it’s crucial to note that performance can degrade under specific conditions, such as exposure to sulfuric acid gases or high temperatures (e.g., cooking ranges), leading to progressive deterioration. This alloy is a viable option for joining copper to copper, and can also be utilized with Phosbraz flux on cuprous alloys, within the electrical industry, and in plumbing applications.
PHOSBRAZ M70 excels at brazing copper to copper components, eliminating the need for additional flux. Its versatility extends to use with Phosbraz flux on bronze and brass, and is suitable for electrical applications and plumbing. While it can withstand service temperatures up to +150°C (without strength loss) and -20°C in air conditioning and refrigeration, it’s critical to avoid applications involving sulfur-containing media or joining ferrous metals (steel, iron, nickel, cobalt), as this can compromise joint integrity. The recommended operating temperature for short service joints is 200°C.
