Selectarc PHOSBRAZ CPA15

PHOSBRAZ CPA15 is a copper-phosphorus-silver alloy (CuP-Ag) specifically designed for brazing applications. This alloy, offered in a convenient coil preform format, provides excellent fluidity and gap-filling capabilities, resulting in robust and leak-proof joints when used with copper and low-zinc brasses. The inclusion of silver significantly lowers the melting point, improves electrical conductivity and ductility, and increases resistance to vibration and cyclic pressure. It’s a versatile solution for a range of industries, including plumbing, electrical components, refrigeration, and HVAC systems. Crucially, this alloy is not suitable for use with ferrous metals (steel, iron, nickel, cobalt) due to the formation of brittle phases.

PHOSBRAZ CPA15 is primarily employed for brazing copper and low-zinc brasses, offering reliable performance in diverse applications. It excels at creating strong, leak-proof joints, particularly in situations demanding high fluidity and gap-filling properties. Ideal for joining copper pipes, electrical connections, refrigeration components, and HVAC systems. The alloy’s unique composition provides excellent resistance to vibration and cyclic pressure, and its low melting point ensures efficient brazing. However, it’s imperative to avoid using this alloy with ferrous metals (steel, iron, nickel, cobalt) to prevent the formation of brittle joints. The typical operating temperature range is between +150˚C to -70˚C, offering broad service temperature capabilities.
