PHOSBRAZ AG61 is a manual brazing alloy specifically designed for high-strength capillary brazing applications. This alloy boasts a significant silver content, which enhances ductility and mechanical properties while simultaneously refining the alloy and improving electrical conductivity. It’s recommended for brazing copper and optionally copper brass pipes, particularly in combustible installations and low-temperature applications. However, it’s crucial to note that its use is not recommended for materials containing sulphur or ferrous metals (steel, iron, nickel, cobalt) due to the formation of brittle phases and potential corrosion issues under specific conditions (sulphur exposure or elevated temperatures).

PHOSBRAZ AG61 is primarily used for the manual brazing of copper and copper brass pipes, most commonly in applications within combustible installations and low-temperature environments. Specifically, it’s suitable for use in air conditioning and refrigeration systems, maintaining strength up to +150˚C and enduring temperatures down to -50˚C. It’s essential to carefully consider the application environment and potential for sulfur exposure to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the brazed joint.
