Selectarc PHOSBRAZ 675Sn
PHOSBRAZ 675Sn is a high-phosphorus and tin-containing brazing alloy specifically formulated for joining copper to copper. The inclusion of tin lowers the melting point, enhancing fluidity and promoting excellent wetting properties. This alloy offers good corrosion resistance and is non-toxic. Due to its low melting point, it requires a rapid heating cycle to prevent separation of elements through liquation. It’s suitable for both manual and automated brazing processes, including oven, flame, and induction methods. Its capillary action is particularly effective in narrow gaps. It acts as a self-fluxing alloy, eliminating the need for additional flux, and is compatible with cuprous alloys like bronze and brass. However, it is not recommended for use with ferrous materials such as steels or those containing iron, nickel, or cobalt.
PHOSBRAZ 675Sn is primarily used for brazing copper to copper, but can also be applied to cuprous alloys (bronze, brass). It is recommended for applications requiring excellent wetting properties and capillary action, particularly in narrow gaps. It’s suitable for manual and automatic brazing techniques, including oven, flame, and induction heating. Important considerations include rapid heating cycles to avoid liquation and avoiding the use with ferrous materials. Operational temperatures range from +150˚C to -20˚C, with a maximum short service joint operating temperature of 200˚C.
