Selectarc NICROX 49C1

NICROX 49 C1 is a high-strength braze welding alloy formulated with copper, zinc, and nickel, incorporating small amounts of silicon, nickel, and manganese. The key objectives are to enhance adhesion and control zinc vaporization during the brazing process. This alloy is particularly suitable for high-stress joints, notably for joining steel to steel or carbide to steel. It’s also employed for joining a wide range of metals including steels, moulded steels, nickel and nickel alloys, copper, bronze, brass, nickel silver, cupro-aluminium, provided the solidus temperature exceeds 900°C. Careful control of the heating cycle is recommended due to the high zinc content to prevent vaporization.

NICROX 49 C1 is primarily used for brazing applications involving high-stress joints. Its main applications include joining steel to steel or carbide to steel. It’s also suitable for joining various metals such as steels, moulded steels, nickel and nickel alloys, copper, bronze, brass, nickel silver, cupro-aluminium. The alloy requires a controlled quench (above 300°C) to prevent joint weakening. It’s important to manage the heating cycle carefully to avoid zinc vaporization, especially due to the alloy’s high zinc content.
