Selectarc MIG F68

This copper-coated solid wire is specifically designed for gas metal arc welding (GMAW) of creep-resistant steels containing chromium and molybdenum (2.25% Cr – 1% Mo). It’s engineered for use at service temperatures up to 600°C, making it ideal for demanding applications in the petrochemical and chemical industries. This wire provides excellent weldability and mechanical properties when post-weld heat treated (PWHT) at 690°C for 1 hour.

The MIG F68 wire is predominantly utilized in the petrochemical and chemical industries for welding creep-resistant steels such as 10CrMo 9-10, 12CrMo 9-10, and G-17CrMo 9-10. It’s suitable for GMAW welding processes, particularly with an Ar/O2 shielding gas mixture (12-15 l/min) and a preheating and interpasses temperature range of 185-215°C. PWHT at 690°C for 1 hour significantly enhances the weld metal’s mechanical properties.
