Selectarc MIG D25/09W
This low carbon solid wire, designated MIG D25/09W, is specifically formulated for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of Duplex and Super Duplex stainless steels. These stainless steel types, characterized by their austenitic-ferritic microstructure, offer exceptional resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion, particularly in chloride-containing environments. The wire is designed for applications requiring a high strength combination with corrosion resistance and can withstand service temperatures up to +250°C. It is compatible with a range of Duplex and Super Duplex stainless steel grades, including S31803, S32304, S32900, S32550, S32750 and S32760, as well as their corresponding EN standards and UNS alloys.
This wire is primarily used in the fabrication of pumps, vessels, and piping systems, demanding high strength and corrosion resistance. It’s suitable for welding Duplex and Super Duplex stainless steels, providing a robust solution for critical components exposed to aggressive media. Recommended welding parameters include a shielding gas of Ar+0.5-5%CO2 (M12) or Ar+0.5-3%O2 (M13) at a flow rate of 15-20 l/min. Back shielding with Argon or Nitrogen gas, or utilizing a copper backing support, is advised to prevent ‘back end’ rust. The wire’s mechanical properties, including tensile strength and elongation, meet minimum requirements for use in demanding applications.
