Selectarc MIG CO21
This cobalt-based solid wire (AWS A5.21: ERCoCr-E, EN 14700: S Co1, DIN 8555: MSG-20-GZ-300-CKTZ) is specifically designed for GMAW harfacing applications. It offers excellent wear and oxidation resistance up to 1000°C, particularly in environments containing sulphurous atmospheres. The wire exhibits good behaviour to thermal and mechanical shocks, offering superior resistance to cracking and cavitation/erosion. The deposited weld metal is non-magnetic. It is based on a cobalt base for enhanced performance in demanding applications.
This wire is primarily used for harfacing (overlaying) applications on components subjected to high wear, heat, and mechanical stress. Specifically, it’s suitable for the surfacing of motor valves, gas turbine blades, extrusion nozzles, forging dies, forging tools, mixers, and valves handling gas, water, vapour, and acids. Proper preheating (200-400°C) and slow cooling are crucial to minimize the risk of cracking during the cooling process.
