Selectarc MIG 20/10MNB

This low carbon solid wire, designated ER318, is specifically designed for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of stainless steels stabilized with Niobium or Titanium. It offers excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, device corrosion in chloride atmospheres, and oxidation, maintaining performance up to 400°C. This wire is particularly suitable for demanding applications in petrochemical industries and marine environments, including seawater exposure.

This wire is ideal for welding a range of stainless steel grades, including 316, 316L, 316Ti, and 316Cb, commonly used in petrochemical plants, offshore structures, and other corrosive environments. It’s compatible with GMAW processes and requires specific shielding gas mixtures for optimal performance – typically Argon with 0.5-5% CO2 or Argon with 0.5-3% O2. Back shielding with Argon or Nitrogen gas or a copper backing support is recommended to prevent ‘back end’ rust phenomena.
