Selectarc MIG 17/4MO
Solid wire designed for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of stainless steels with compositions similar to X2CrNiMo13-4 and APX4S*. This wire is specifically recommended for applications requiring high strength and corrosion resistance. It’s crucial to consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for comprehensive safety information. The welding procedure involves preheating workpieces to 100-150°C, maintaining this temperature during the weld, and then allowing for a slow cooling process, or annealing at 580-620°C/4-8h for optimal mechanical properties.
This MIG wire is primarily utilized for repairing Pelton turbines and general stainless steel welding applications. It’s particularly suitable when welding alloys with a composition closely matching X2CrNiMo13-4. Welding parameters, including current, voltage, and shielding gas, are specified based on the desired mechanical properties of the weld. Annealing after welding at elevated temperatures is recommended to achieve the maximum strength and ductility.
