Selectarc Inox 383
This stainless electrode is a Rutile-Basic coated electrode specifically designed for welding fully austenitic stainless steels, including Sanicro 28 and Uranus B28. It offers high corrosion resistance and good weldability in all positions except vertical down. The weld metal exhibits excellent slag removal and produces regularly rippled weld beads. Due to its alloy composition, featuring high molybdenum (Mo) and copper (Cu) content, it demonstrates exceptional resistance against attacks by phosphoric and sulphuric acids, and provides protection against pitting and stress corrosion in chloride-containing environments. It’s suitable for operation temperatures up to 400°C.
This electrode is ideal for applications within the pulp and paper industry, in the production of transport containers, and within chemical industry installations. Proper welding procedures are essential, including maintaining an interpass temperature below 150°C and using a stringer bead technique to minimize heat input. Post-weld heat treatment involving redrying at 250-300°C for 2-3 hours is recommended.
