Selectarc Inox 318
This stainless steel electrode, designated Selectarc Inox 318, is a rutile-basic coated electrode stabilized with niobium. It’s designed for welding titanium or niobium (Cb) stabilized CrNiMo austenitic stainless steels. The deposit exhibits resistance against intercrystalline corrosion and offers excellent corrosion resistance across various environments. The electrode is characterized by a soft fusion, easy striking and restriking, and self-peeling slag, ensuring moisture resistance. It’s suitable for applications requiring robust corrosion protection, particularly in demanding conditions.
This electrode is primarily used for welding stainless steel components in industries such as petrochemicals, refineries, and for applications involving seawater contact, including tanks and heat exchangers. It’s suitable for service temperatures ranging from -120°C to +400°C, and is compatible with stainless steel grades like S31600, S31635, and S31640. The recommended welding current and specific parameters (redrying at 250°C for 1 hour if necessary, interpass temperature below 150°C) are detailed for optimal results.
