Selectarc Inox 2509MoB
This basic coated electrode is specifically designed for welding and cladding steels and castings with an austenitic-ferritic structure, particularly those used in pumps, vessels, and piping systems exposed to chloride-containing solutions. It boasts an austenitic-ferritic microstructure (approximately 40% ferrite) and offers resistance against pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion. The weld metal is capable of withstanding operation temperatures up to 250°C. This electrode offers a combination of high strength and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for demanding applications.
This electrode is ideally suited for welding and cladding stainless steels such as S31803, S32304, S32550, S32750, S32760 and S32900. It’s commonly used in applications involving chloride exposure, including pump housings, vessel components, and piping systems. The recommended welding parameters are a current of 50-190A, a redrying temperature of 250-300°C for 2-3 hours, and an interpass temperature below 150°C. A short arc and a slight electrode inclination are recommended for optimal results.
