Selectarc Inox 2209B
This basic coated electrode is specifically designed for use with duplex stainless steels. It provides a weld deposit exhibiting high resistance against pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion in chloride-containing media, such as seawater. The weld metal offers exceptional tensile strength and is suitable for operation temperatures up to 250°C. This electrode is ideal for butt welding and cladding applications involving steels and castings with an austenitic-ferritic structure of similar composition. It’s noted for its easy weldability, stable arc, and straightforward slag removal, facilitating the creation of regular weld beads. It’s frequently used in demanding applications like pumps, vessels, and piping systems exposed to corrosive environments.
This electrode is primarily used in applications requiring high strength and corrosion resistance, particularly in environments containing chloride-based solutions. Common applications include the fabrication and repair of pumps, vessels, piping systems, impellers, and other components designed for demanding environments. It’s well-suited for both welding and cladding operations involving duplex stainless steel materials.
