Selectarc Inox 16/8 2B
This is an austenitic stainless steel electrode, specifically designed for basic type coatings with approximately 5% ferrite and increased carbon content. It offers a stable arc, efficient slag removal, and regular weld beads. This electrode demonstrates good behavior in various welding positions and is suitable for welds on joints with poor surface preparation. It provides excellent mechanical properties, making it ideal for demanding applications. It’s commonly used on 18/8 stainless steels (304H type) and 17-12-2 stainless steels (316H type), as well as stabilized grades, intended for applications requiring elevated service temperatures up to +750°C.
This electrode is primarily utilized in the petrochemical industry for applications such as the fabrication of tubes, heat exchangers, and piping systems. It is particularly effective when welding stainless steels like 304H (18/8), 316H (17-12-2), and stabilized grades, particularly where high-temperature resistance is needed. Welding instructions recommend a current of 70-120A depending on the electrode diameter, and a redrying step at 250°C for 1 hour is advised if necessary. Maintaining an interpass temperature below 200°C is crucial for optimal weld quality.
