Selectarc HRT60
This tubular electrode is filled with chromium carbide powder and designed for hardfacing applications. It deposits a highly resistant layer to abrasion and mineral erosion, thanks to its high chromium carbide content within an austenitic matrix. The deposit is very compact, offers agreeable melting characteristics, and leaves no slag. Importantly, it is not machinable. The electrode is suitable for use with very low current. A second electrode can be introduced to increase the deposition rate.
This electrode is ideal for hardfacing various materials, including austenitic and manganese steels, grey cast iron, tool steels, and high alloyed steels. It is particularly well-suited for demanding environments such as agriculture, cement industries, quarries, brickyards, civil engineering projects (specifically for screw presses and excavating jars), and other applications where abrasion resistance is critical. It’s recommended to apply a cushion layer with Selectarc 29/9 or 18/8Mn electrodes when working with high-alloyed steels.
