Selectarc HB50Co
The Selectarc HB50Co is a rutile-basic coated hardfacing electrode designed for high-temperature applications. It provides excellent resistance to metal-to-metal wear, corrosion and extreme temperatures up to 650°C. The weld deposit is particularly suitable for building up machinery parts and tools subjected to impact, compression, and significant wear. It’s known for a stable arc, regular drop transfer, and a smooth deposit, allowing for efficient machining with tungsten carbide tipped tools. It’s compatible with high-strength carbon steels, tool steels, and hot working steels.
This electrode is ideal for building up dies, hot working tools, moulds, continuous driving rolls, mandrels, and forming tools. Preheating is recommended for large components, typically between 150°C and 400°C, depending on the material composition. After welding, a redrying cycle of 2 hours at 300°C is advised, followed by proper cleaning of the weld zone. Slow cooling of the workpiece is essential to maintain weld properties.
