Selectarc Fonte Fe3
This is a graphite-coated electrode specifically designed for hot welding of nodular cast iron. It provides a stable arc, allowing welding over hot slag, and ensures good bonding and flow of the weld metal. The resulting deposit matches the colour and structure of the base material, and the electrode is suitable for repairing defects in foundries.
This electrode is primarily used for repairing defects in nodular cast iron foundries. It’s ideal for hot welding applications, offering a stable arc and ensuring a colour-matched deposit. Proper preheating and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) – specifically, 2 hours at 900°C followed by 4 hours at 700°C – are recommended for optimal results, including achieving the specified hardness and mechanical properties in the heat-affected zone.
