Selectarc Flux UP WP380
This document is intended to assist the user in choosing the product. It is up to the user to verify that the chosen product is suitable for applications for which it is intended. FSH Welding Group reserves the right to alter specifications without prior notice. This fused welding flux is designed for submerged arc welding and surfacing (SAW process) of austenitic stainless steels and low alloyed steels used for high-temperature applications. Due to its semi-basic formulation, it delivers crack-free weld deposits with most stainless steel grades. The flux offers neutral metallurgical behaviour (C-neutral, low Si pick-up, and low Mn loss, no Cr compensation). It is recommended to store and use the flux up to 1 year after delivery in dry storage rooms. Drying conditions specific to the flux: 150-200°C. Supplied in moisture-proof packaging.
This flux is primarily utilized in submerged arc welding (SAW) and surfacing operations of high-alloyed austenitic stainless steels and low-alloy steels intended for high-temperature environments. It’s compatible with a range of wires, including AWS A5.9, AWS A5.11, AWS A5.23, and ERNiCrMo-3, ERNiCrMo-4, EA2, EB66, EB9, and EG. The flux delivers robust weld metal characteristics with high tensile strength and good resistance to high temperatures, as detailed in the mechanical properties table. It’s crucial to conduct weldability tests if the flux has been stored for extended periods.
