Selectarc Flux UP LA05
The FLUX UP LA05 is a fluoride semi-basic flux designed for submerged arc welding (SAW) of low-alloy structural steels, fine-grained steels, and pipe steel qualities. This flux exhibits a low consumption rate and is formulated to minimize diffusible hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen levels – up to 5 ml/100g hydrogen, 350 ppm oxygen, and low nitrogen levels. It is suitable for use on both DC and AC welding, with single or tandem wire configurations, and is recommended with wires such as S2 EM12, S2Si EM12K, S3 EH10, and others. Its key properties include excellent toughness at low temperatures and easy slag removal, even in narrow groove welds.
This flux is primarily used in the submerged arc welding (SAW) process for joining low-alloy structural steels, fine-grained steels, and pipe steels. It is particularly well-suited for applications requiring low levels of hydrogen and other contaminants in the weld metal, promoting excellent mechanical properties at low temperatures. Suitable for a range of welding current settings up to 1000A (AC or DC) using one wire. The flux is also compatible with various electrode wires offering a wide range of chemical compositions to tailor weld properties.
