Selectarc Flux UP LA04
This agglomerated aluminate-basic neutral welding flux, specifically designed for submerged arc welding (SAW), is ideal for joining low-alloy structural steels, fine-grained steels, pipe steels, and boiler steels. It offers constant metallurgical characteristics, minimizing Si and Mn pick-up, and delivers uniform mechanical properties with low-temperature toughness when used with appropriate Mo, Ni, or NiMo-alloyed wires. Key features include exceptionally low diffusible hydrogen levels (<0.4ml/100g of weld metal deposit), facilitating easy slag detachability even in narrow-groove welds. The flux is compatible with both DC and AC welding methods, supporting Single, Tandem, Twin, or multi-wire welding processes. Its properties align with ISO 14171-A and AWS A5.17 standards, and it offers versatile applicability across ISO 26304-A and AWS A5.23 specifications. It comes with a low drying temperature (200 ± 50°C) for optimal performance.
This flux is primarily used for submerged arc welding (SAW) of a wide range of structural steel grades, including low-alloy steels, fine-grained steels, pipe steels, and boiler steels. It is particularly suited for applications demanding low hydrogen levels and easy slag removal. Recommended wires include S1 EL12, S2 EM12, S3 EH10K, S2Si EM12K, S3Si EH12K, S2Mo EA2, S3Mo EA4, S2Ni1 ENi1, S2Ni2 ENi2, S2NiCu1 EG, along with various ISO and AWS-compliant wire options. The flux’s flexibility allows for use in Single, Tandem, Twin, and Multi-Wire welding configurations. Typical application scenarios involve the fabrication of pressure vessels, large structural components, and pipe lines.
