Selectarc FLUX ODAL

FLUX ODAL is a corrosive flux specifically designed for brazing aluminium and low alloyed aluminium alloys. It offers excellent alloy wettability and deoxidising action, making it suitable for a wide range of brazing processes including flame, induction, and resistance brazing. Notably, this flux does not fume, simplifying the process and ensuring a cleaner environment. This product is RoHS compliant.

FLUX ODAL is recommended for brazing aluminium alloys in applications such as radiators, heating elements, and deep fat fryers. The flux should be mixed with distilled or demineralized water in a 1:1 or 1:1.5 ratio and applied to the joint surface by brush. For ‘Hot Rodding’, the flux powder is transferred to the joint. Proper surface preparation, slow and even heating, and monitoring the flux’s visual clarity are crucial. Post-brazing, the flux residue must be thoroughly removed, typically by immersion in boiling water. Storage should be between +5°C and 30°C, avoiding rapid temperature fluctuations.
