Selectarc FLUX ALUNOX NCs
ALUNOX NCs is a non-corrosive brazing flux specifically formulated for soft brazing aluminium and low alloyed aluminium alloys (excluding those containing magnesium) with stainless steel or copper. It’s suitable for use with all types of flames, induction brazing, and resistance brazing processes. Notably, this flux does not produce fumes, and it complies with RoHS standards. The flux is supplied as a white powder and must be mixed with water (a 1:1 or 1:1.5 ratio of flux to water – distilled or demineralised is recommended) before application.
ALUNOX NCs is recommended for brazing aluminium alloys, commonly used in applications such as brazing radiators, heating elements, sandwich bottom pots, and deep fat fryers. The flux is applied to the joint surface using a brush, and further flux is applied externally on both sides of the joint. For optimal results, the joint surface should be mechanically cleaned and degreased before flux application. Careful heating is crucial, and the flux’s opacity serves as a temperature guide. It’s particularly effective when utilizing the ‘hot rodding’ method – dipping a warm brazing rod into the flux powder. Although the flux is suitable for flame brazing, its effectiveness can be limited by its susceptibility to saturation with oxides, especially when heating is rapid.
