Selectarc FeNi Cu
This Selectarc FeNi/Cu Ferro Nickel Electrode is designed for welding and repairing nodular cast iron. It features a graphite-basic coating with a copper-coated core wire and a Ferro-Nickel alloy deposit (55%Ni – 45%Fe). The copper-plated core wire provides exceptional resistance to overheating during welding, resulting in excellent welding characteristics and a good wash-in and flow of the weld metal. It’s particularly suitable for applications requiring high-temperature resistance and where minimizing heat input is crucial.
This electrode is primarily used for repairing foundry defects, such as engine block repairs and tool machine frame repairs. It’s ideal for welding and repairing cast iron components including gearboxes, pump bodies, and valve bodies. The recommended welding parameters – low heat input, short beads, and immediate peening – are designed to minimize cracking risk and ensure a high-quality weld. Specifically, it’s compatible with Grey, Malleable and Nodular cast iron classifications (A48 class 25B to 60B GG-15 to GG-40 FGL 150 to FGL 400) and suitable for welding materials like A536 Grade 60-80 GGG-40 to GGG-60 and GTS-35 to GTS-65.
