Selectarc FCT 316L

This product is a TIG cored wire specifically designed for welding 316L stainless steel. It’s optimized for use during the root pass of welds, providing protection against atmospheric oxidation. The wire offers a precise chemical composition (C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Mo, Cu, P, S) and delivers robust mechanical properties, meeting stringent standards for tensile strength, elongation, and electrical conductivity. It’s suitable for use in a wide temperature range from -196°C to +350°C, making it versatile for various applications.

This TIG cored wire is primarily intended for the root pass of welds in 316L stainless steel piping, particularly within the petrochemical industry. Its shielding gas (Argon – ISO 14175) and recommended flow rate (6 – 12 L/min) ensure optimal weld quality. The wire is compatible with several stainless steel grades, including 31600, 316L, 31635, 30400 and 30403. Welding parameters, such as current and voltage, are provided for efficient and consistent welds.
