Selectarc Cu118

This complex aluminium-bronze electrode (CuMn13Al7Fe3Ni2) is a coated manganese bronze electrode designed for welding and surfacing aluminium bronzes. It’s specifically formulated for creating dissimilar joints between steels and copper alloys, and is also recommended for overlays on cast iron, steels and copper alloys. It offers excellent welding characteristics, including a stable arc, low spatter, and easy slag removal. The electrode is suitable for demanding applications such as naval constructions, sea water environments, and the chemical industry (pumps, propellers, etc.).

The Selectarc Cu118 electrode is ideal for welding and surfacing applications where corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are crucial. It’s particularly well-suited for creating overlays, repairing worn components, and joining dissimilar metals in environments exposed to seawater or corrosive chemicals. Recommended for use in naval construction, pumps, propellers, sliding guides, and general repair work. Preheating is recommended for heavier sections (above 8mm) and degassing can be improved through a low welding speed.
