Selectarc Co12
Selectarc Co12 is a hardfacing electrode featuring a rutile-basic coating and a cobalt base deposit of « Stellite grade 12 » (Co-Cr-W). This deposit offers high hardness coupled with excellent resistance to metal and mineral abrasion, as well as corrosion and high temperatures up to 800°C, even in the presence of moderate shocks. It demonstrates high resistance to erosion and cavitation. It is highly recommended when a significant hardness is desired, and when the deposit is subjected to temperature, corrosion, abrasion, and impact. This electrode provides excellent welding characteristics.
This hardfacing electrode is particularly suitable for the hardfacing of tools used in processing plastics, wood, and paper (such as carton and paper cutting), pressing tools, hot cut tools, hot shear blades, and extrusion screws. Redrying at 250°C for 1 hour is recommended when necessary, along with a preheat of 250-400°C for massive pieces. A low current should be used to minimize dilution and preserve the hardness of the alloy. Slow cooling is advised to reduce the risk of cracking. It is recommended to apply Selectarc 307R as a cushion layer when welding.
