Selectarc BRAZARGENT 5056
BRAZARGENT 5056 is a widely utilized cadmium-free brazing alloy, primarily composed of Copper, Zinc, a high Silver content (56%), and Tin (5%). The Silver and Tin constituents significantly lower the melting point, enhancing fluidity and providing excellent wetting properties. This alloy’s superior fluidity makes it ideal for tight-fitting joints and the ability to penetrate narrow gaps. Specifically designed for delicate assemblies operating at lower temperatures, BRAZARGENT 5056 delivers good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Available in bare rods, coated rods (with AGFLUX or HP flux), and TBW (Tubular Brazing Wire) formats, this technology utilizes a flux-inside approach for optimized metal/flux ratio control (12% +/- 2).
BRAZARGENT 5056 is a versatile brazing alloy suitable for joining Steels, Copper, copper-based alloys, stainless steels, and Nickel and Nickel-based alloys. It can be used with flame or induction brazing processes (excluding coated forms and oven applications). Common applications are found within the HVAC, automotive, food and sanitary, electric, household, and healthcare sectors. The brazed joint can withstand temperatures ranging from approximately -200°C to +200°C, maintaining its strength. The availability in various formats – bare rods, coated rods, and TBW – allows for flexibility in application methods.
