Selectarc BRAZARGENT 5055
BRAZARGENT 5055 is a widely used cadmium-free alloy formulated with copper, zinc, a high silver content (55%) and tin. The silver and tin components are responsible for lowering the melting point, enhancing fluidity, and offering excellent wetting properties. This alloy is particularly suitable for closely fitting joints and can penetrate even tight gaps. It provides good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Available in both bare rods for use with AGFLUX or AGFLUX HP fluxes, and coated rods (AGFLUX HP), BRAZARGENT 5055 is a versatile solution for diverse brazing applications.
BRAZARGENT 5055 is expertly utilized for brazing a broad range of materials including steels, copper and copper-based alloys, stainless steels, and nickel and nickel-based alloys. It’s compatible with both flame and induction brazing methods (excluding coated forms and oven processes). Typical applications span across industries such as HVAC, automotive, food & sanitary, electrical, household and healthcare. When used with AGFLUX or AGFLUX HP fluxes, the operating temperature for the brazed joint can range from approximately -200°C to +200°C, while maintaining strength. This makes it ideal for assemblies requiring precise thermal management.
