Selectarc BRAZARGENT 5038

BRAZARGENT 5038 is a cadmium-free silver alloy (38% silver) composed primarily of copper, zinc, and tin. This alloy is designed for brazing applications and offers excellent fluidity, allowing it to penetrate tight gaps and create strong, reliable joints. It’s specifically formulated to lower the melting point, improve the flow of the molten metal, and enhance wetting properties. This makes it suitable for delicate assemblies and applications requiring precise fits. The addition of silicon improves alloy stability and brazeability, preventing a sparkling effect during the process. BRAZARGENT 5038 is ideal for joining a wide range of metals including steels, copper, copper-based alloys, stainless steels, and nickel and nickel-based alloys. It can be used with flame or induction brazing techniques (except in coated form). Commonly employed in industries such as HVAC, automotive, food and sanitary, electrical, household, and healthcare sectors. It’s typically used with AGFLUX paste, AGFLUX or HP Flux coatings or as a TBW (Tubular Brazing Wire). The alloy’s operating temperature range is approximately -200°C to +200°C, maintaining its strength within this range.
