Selectarc BRAZARGENT 5030
BRAZARGENT 5030 is a cadmium-free brazing alloy formulated with copper, zinc, silver (30%), and tin. The silver and tin content significantly reduces the melting point, enhances fluidity, and provides excellent wetting properties. This allows it to be ideally suited for close-fitting joints, even in tight and medium gaps. It offers superior performance regarding operating temperature ranges (-200°C to +200°C without loss of strength), and contributes to good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Available in bare rods or coated rods (AGFLUX HP), it is suitable for joining a wide range of metals, including steels, copper alloys, stainless steels, and nickel alloys. The slight addition of silicon (approximately 0.1%) during melting ensures alloy stability and improved brazability, preventing sparking.
BRAZARGENT 5030 is primarily used for brazing applications across various industries. Specifically, it is suitable for joining steels, copper alloys, stainless steels, and nickel-based alloys, typically via flame or induction brazing processes (excluding coated forms). Common applications are found in HVAC systems, the automotive sector, food and sanitary equipment manufacturing, the electric industry, household appliance production, and healthcare equipment. Due to its operating temperature range (-200°C to +200°C), it’s ideal for assemblies where thermal fluctuations are expected. It’s recommended for creating robust and reliable joints in applications demanding high performance and long-term durability.
