Selectarc BRAZARGENT 5025
BRAZARGENT 5025 is a cadmium-free quaternary silver brazing alloy formulated for exceptional flow and wetting properties. This alloy, composed of Ag-Cu-Zn-Sn, offers excellent performance across a variety of heating methods and applications. The inclusion of tin (Sn) significantly lowers the melting point, enhancing fluidity and promoting superior wetting capabilities. It boasts good corrosion resistance and is inherently non-toxic. Proper handling is crucial; the bare rod should be used with AG Flux or HP/Borinox Flux for optimal results. Maintaining a controlled quench (above 300°C) is vital to prevent joint weakening.
BRAZARGENT 5025 is a versatile brazing alloy suitable for joining steel, copper, copper-based alloys, stainless steels, and steel tools. It is particularly well-suited for applications in the automotive and electrical industries, as well as food and sanitary environments and medical fluid transport. It’s ideal for use with both flame and induction brazing processes. A controlled quench exceeding 300°C is necessary to avoid weakening the brazed joint. Using the recommended AG Flux or HP/Borinox Flux is recommended.
