Selectarc BRAZARGENT 1544

BRAZARGENT 1544 is a ternary, cadmium-free alloy formulated with Copper, Zinc, Silver (44%), and Silicon. Designed for joining a wide variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, excluding Aluminum and Magnesium, this viscous alloy is particularly well-suited for applications where poor fit-up is a concern. Its high melting point makes it ideal for step brazing techniques, enhanced by a high-temperature flux coating that promotes alloy flow. Available in both bare rod format (for use with AGFLUX or HP Flux HP) and coated rod formats, it provides reliable brazing solutions across various industries.

This alloy is predominantly used for brazing ferrous metals, steels, and copper-based alloys. It finds applications within the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors, as well as in plumbing technology. The brazed joints can withstand temperatures ranging from approximately -200°C to +200°C without significant loss of strength. Due to its properties, it is recommended for step brazing applications and areas with potentially poor fit-up. It’s supplied as bare rods or coated rods, the latter for use with specific fluxes (AGFLUX or HP Flux HP).
