Selectarc BRAZARGENT 1520SI
BRAZARGENT 1520Si is a ternary, cadmium-free alloy formulated with Copper, Zinc, Silver (20%) and Silicon. The reduced silver and zinc content lowers the melting point, resulting in a viscous alloy suitable for joining a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, excluding Aluminium and Magnesium. It’s particularly effective in joint configurations with poor fit-up and offers good fillet-forming capabilities. The high-temperature flux coating, available in both bare and coated versions (with AGFLUX HP), enhances the alloy’s flow profile, making it ideal for step brazing techniques. This ensures optimal joint integrity and performance.
BRAZARGENT 1520Si is primarily used for brazing ferrous metals and steels, as well as copper and copper-based alloys. Due to its properties, it’s well-suited for applications in the refrigeration and air conditioning industries, and in plumbing technology. The alloy’s operating temperature range of approximately -200°C to +200°C (without strength loss) makes it suitable for various demanding environments. Its effectiveness is further enhanced by utilizing step brazing techniques and appropriate flux coatings.
