Selectarc B73
The Selectarc B73 is a high-strength basic coated electrode designed for welding fine grain steels. This electrode exhibits excellent resistance to fatigue and corrosion, particularly in the presence of phosphorus and sulfur. It offers a smooth weld appearance and easy slag removal due to its soft fusion characteristics. It’s suitable for applications across a wide temperature range (-50°C to +500°C) and is compatible with various steel classifications.
This electrode is ideal for welding construction steels, steels for boiler and pressure vessels, high-strength steels, heat-resistant steels, and cold-tough steels. Specifically, it’s suitable for applications in general construction, shipbuilding, and power generation. Preheating is recommended, and strict control of the interpass temperature (below 250°C) is crucial for optimal weld quality. Thermal stress relieving at 620°C/1h is recommended for increased strength and ductility. Consult the MSDS for fume control information.
