Selectarc 48SP

This Selectarc 48SP Rutile Electrode is a mild steel electrode specifically designed for welding in all positions, including vertical down. It offers excellent operability, easy striking, a stable arc with minimal spatter, good penetration and straightforward slag removal. It’s particularly useful on poorly prepared metal surfaces (e.g., those contaminated with oil or grease) due to its reduced sensitivity.

Suitable for a wide range of applications including metal constructions, piping systems, tanks, blacksmithing and craftwork. Primarily used on construction steels (S185 – S355), ship steels (Quality A & B) and various steel grades as specified by ASTM and EN standards. Ideal for welding in all positions, with a strong arc and good penetration.
