Selectarc 24/12Mo
This Selectarc 24/12Mo stainless steel electrode is a Rutile-basic coated electrode featuring 23Cr 12Ni 2Mo stainless steel. It’s specifically designed for repairing welds between various steel types, including 316L stainless steel, low alloy steels, and mild steels. This electrode provides a high level of crack resistance and delivers a soft, aesthetically pleasing weld bead with slag that easily lifts itself. It’s frequently used as an intermediate cladding layer for 316L and as a versatile repairing electrode in maintenance welding applications. Its composition (approximately 22.5% Cr, 12.5% Ni, 2.3% Mo) ensures robust mechanical properties, with a tensile strength exceeding 450 MPa and elongation greater than 25%.
This electrode is primarily used for repair welding applications in a variety of steel joining scenarios. Specifically, it’s recommended for repairs involving 316L stainless steel, low alloy steels, and mild steels. Due to its properties, it’s a suitable choice for maintenance welding and cladding applications, offering good crack resistance and a visually appealing weld bead. Welding parameters are provided for electrode diameters of 2.0x300mm, 2.5x350mm, 3.2x350mm, 4.0x350mm and 5.0x450mm, with current ranges adjusted based on the electrode size. Redrying at 250°C is recommended if needed, maintaining an interpass temperature below 150°C.
