Selectarc Flux UP WP380M
This flux is an agglomerated Type aluminate-fluoride designed for submerged arc welding (SAW) of duplex and super duplex stainless steels, as well as general stainless steel wire electrodes (like 300 series). It’s characterized by a neutral metallurgical behavior, minimizing silicon and manganese pick-up, and delivering a finely ribbed surface with a self-releasing slag. It’s suitable for DC welding in single or multi-layer applications, including fillet welds. The flux offers consistent weld bead quality, free from slag inclusions. The provided chemical composition data outlines the typical percentages of key elements in weld metal, while mechanical properties are specified at various temperatures.
The FLUX UP WP380M flux is recommended for welding Duplex, Super Duplex, and general stainless steels, particularly ER308L, ER347, ER316L, and ER317L. It’s suitable for DC welding processes, including single and multi-layer applications and fillet welds. Users should consult the provided wire recommendations (AWS A5.9, ISO 14343-A, AWS A5.11, ISO 18274) for optimal results. Drying the flux at 300-350°C before use is recommended for best performance, particularly when stored for extended periods. A weldability test is advised if the flux has been stored for more than one year.
