Selectarc Flux UP LA02.5

This product is an agglomerated Aluminate-Basic welding flux designed for submerged arc welding (SAW) processes. Specifically formulated for low-alloy structural steels, fine-grained steels, pipe steels, and boiler steels, it offers high current-carrying capacity and low diffusible hydrogen levels. The flux ensures easy slag detachability, even in narrow groove welds, making it suitable for various welding techniques including single, multilayer, and multi-wire applications (DC and AC). It provides a medium manganese and silicon pick-up, and is compatible with a range of recommended wires (ISO 14171-A AWS A5.17).

This flux is primarily used in the submerged arc welding (SAW) process for a wide range of steel types, including low-alloy structural steel, fine-grained steel, and pipe steel. It’s suitable for longitudinal, circumferential, and fillet welds, as well as for single, multilayer, and multi-wire applications. Welding parameters (current, wire types) are detailed in the accompanying wire recommendations (S1, S2, S2Si, S3Si, S2Mo, S2NiCu). Post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) at temperatures of 580°C/1h or 620°C/15h can improve mechanical properties. Proper storage in dry conditions and drying at 200 ± 50°C are recommended for optimal performance.
