Selectarc TIG M13/0
This solid rod is specifically designed for GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) of martensitic stainless steels, including grades 403, 405, and 416. It offers excellent resistance to atmospheric, water, and light acid corrosion, alongside good resistance against oxidizing exhaust gases. Suitable for service temperatures up to +900°C, it’s primarily used in welding and hardfacing of piping systems operating at temperatures up to +450°C, particularly within the automotive (exhaust systems) sector.
This ER410 rod is predominantly employed in the welding and hardfacing of piping systems, especially in applications involving high temperatures up to +450°C. Its key applications include exhaust systems within the automotive industry. Welding parameters involve shielding gas (Ar) at flow rates of 6-12 l/min, and utilizing a back shielding system with Argon or Nitrogen, potentially combined with a copper backing support, to prevent ‘back end’ rust formation. Mechanical properties are enhanced after post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) at 750°C for 1 hour.
