This solid rod is specifically designed for TIG hardfacing applications, primarily used on steels with compositions similar to X2NiCoMoTi18-8 steel (Maraging steels). It’s suitable for welding Maraging steels like X2NiCoMo18-9-5 and others (Maraging 200-250). Manufactured to a high level of purity to minimize microporosity in the weld deposit, allowing for straightforward machining of the finished product with standard tools. This rod offers a chemical composition carefully controlled to ensure optimal welding performance and desired mechanical properties in the final hardened layer.

This product is ideal for building up dies for the extrusion of aluminum castings and plastics, as well as for manufacturing hot working tools and molds.
