Selectarc MIG M13/0
This solid wire is specifically designed for Gas Metal Welding (GMAW) of martensitic stainless steels, including grades 403, 405, and 416. It exhibits excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, water corrosion, and light acids. Its high service temperature resistance up to +900°C makes it suitable for various applications. This wire provides robust mechanical properties, including high tensile strength and ductility, as well as good weldability.
The MIG M13/0 wire is primarily used for welding and hardfacing applications, particularly in piping systems operating at temperatures up to +450°C. Common applications include exhaust systems in the automotive industry and the fabrication of piping systems. It’s recommended to employ back shielding with Argon or Nitrogen gas, or with a copper backing support, to prevent ‘back end’ rust phenomena. Post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) at 750°C for 1 hour improves the mechanical properties further.
