Selectarc MIG 24/12M
This low carbon solid wire is specifically designed for GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) of stainless steels with similar chemical compositions, including 309LMo, 309, and 309L. It is particularly well-suited for welding dissimilar steels such as low alloy steels, ferritic stainless steels like 430, and martensitic stainless steel like 410. The inclusion of molybdenum enhances its corrosion resistance against acids. Furthermore, its high ferrite content allows for greater dilution during welding without the risk of cracking, and the high silicon content improves alloy fluidity. This wire is suitable for applications in boiler making, civil engineering, and maintenance & repairs.
This MIG wire is ideal for applications requiring the welding of stainless steels and dissimilar metals. Its key features – high molybdenum content for corrosion resistance, high ferrite content for crack prevention, and high silicon content for improved fluidity – make it suitable for demanding environments such as boiler fabrication, civil engineering projects, and maintenance and repair operations. Proper back shielding with argon or nitrogen gas, or with a copper backing support, is recommended to prevent ‘back end’ rust phenomena.
