Selectarc MIG 20/10MNBS
This solid wire, designated 20/10MNBS, is specifically formulated for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of stainless steels. It boasts a high silicon content, enhancing weldability and providing excellent corrosion resistance. Specifically designed for use with stainless steels similar to 318 and 316Ti (stabilized with Niobium like 318, with Titanium like 316Ti), it offers robust protection against intergranular corrosion, device corrosion in chloride atmospheres, and oxidation, all up to a service temperature of 400°C. The composition allows for use with a range of stainless steel grades, including S31600, S31603, S31635, and S31640, offering a versatile solution for diverse welding applications. This wire is crucial for demanding environments requiring high resistance to corrosion and heat.
This solid wire is ideally suited for applications in petrochemical industries and sea water environments. It’s a primary choice for welding stainless steel structures and components subjected to chloride exposure and elevated temperatures. The recommended shielding gases and welding parameters (70-180A, 80-220V, using ISO 14175: M12 or M13) ensure optimal weld quality and minimize the risk of ‘back end’ rust. Back shielding with Argon or Nitrogen gas, or with copper backing support, is recommended for added protection.
